Thursday, May 23, 2024 / 6:30 pm/General Oliver Otis Howard House, 750 Anderson St., Vancouver, WA 98661

Join the Vancouver Barracks Military Association for a fascinating discussion, “Ulysses S. Grant Slept Here?”.  As a young Brevet Captain, Grant served as quartermaster at Vancouver Barracks from 1852-53. Historian and archaeologist Jeff Davis (U.S. Army, Retired) will discuss his new research on the history of 1849 Officers Row building commonly referred to as The Grant House, as well as the building demolished long ago in which Grant did live.
