OSP Fish & Wildlife is seeking public assistance with poaching case- Jackson County (Photo) - 11/22/21

On November 20, 2021, at approximately 930 A.M., Fish & Wildlife Trooper responded to Pair A Dice Ranch Rd in Jacksonville, OR on a report of a poached buck. The Trooper located the buck, which had appeared to have fallen a considerable distance from a ridge, before crossing the road leaving a large blood trail. The Trooper located an access point and hiked to the location where the buck had fallen. There was a quarter-mile blood trail before the ridge that appears to have begun in perfect view of the roadway and where a vehicle made a sudden stop angling toward the buck. No bullet or casings were located. The buck had a large mortal wound on its right side.
