News Release
Lincoln County K9 Nix captures suspect in Tillamook County vehicle pursuit (Photo) - 03/13/19

On March 12, 2019 at approximately 6:55 PM the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was notified that our neighboring law enforcement partner to the north, Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office, had been in a vehicle pursuit where a male driver led deputies on a pursuit into a small rural neighborhood of Beaver, OR. The driver stopped the vehicle and fled on foot. Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office requested Lincoln County’s K9 team to assist with tracking and apprehending the suspect.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Derick Smith and his K9 partner Nix responded to the area of Blaine Rd and River Bend Rd. to assist Tillamook County Sheriff's Deputies.

At 7:40 PM, Nix began her track at the location the suspect was last seen. K9 Nix began tracking down the north side of the Nestucca River. This track went along the river, through neighboring yards and over fences.

After approximately one quarter mile of tracking around 8:30 PM, Nix alerted to scent on the north side of Blaine Rd at RO Richard Rd. Nix located the male hiding on a steep heavily brushed and wooded hillside.

Tillamook County Sheriff’s deputies took the male, Miguel A. Neto age 36 of Rockaway Beach, into custody without incident.

Neto was taken to the Tillamook County Jail for outstanding arrest warrants including Felon in Possession Firearm and charges related to the vehicle pursuit.
