NARRATIVE:
On June 5th 2020 at about 7:20 PM, Deschutes County dispatch received a 911 call regarding an injured mountain biker on the Lower Whoops Trail about a mile south of Skyliners Rd. The mountain biker, later identified as Andrew Davis, had reportedly sustained potentially serious injuries after crashing his bike while riding on the trail.
Based on this information, 16 Deschutes County Sheriff Office Search and Rescue Volunteers responded to assist while one Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Deputy remained in quarters to coordinate the rescue.
At about 8:00 pm, DCSO SAR medical team members arrived on scene with Davis and began tending to him. After being stabilized, Davis was transported by DCSO SAR members via wheeled litter to a SAR vehicle and then transported by vehicle to Skyliners Rd where Bend Fire and Rescue was waiting. Davis was transferred to Bend Fire without incident and then transported to St. Charles Bend via ground ambulance for further treatment.
