The media is invited to join Coronado High School and D11 leaders to officially cut the ribbon on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 6:45 p.m. and celebrate completing a brand new track and field. Work started on the new track and field last spring. On September 14, the Coronado High School varsity soccer team will play on the new field for the first time. Funding for the track and field was approved by the D11 School Board from vacant funds unused due to the pandemic.
This project delivers state-of-the-art sports surfaces for student-athletes, band students, and others to enjoy! A new artificial sports turf field surrounded by a new synthetic running track and energy-efficient LED lights provides an up-to-date and competitive environment, aligning D11 schools with others around Colorado.
These improvements will enhance the aesthetics of the Coronado property while dramatically improving the safety and sustainability of these sports surfaces for many years.
