Colorado Springs School District 11 to Dedicate Sesquicentennial Time Capsule at City's Oldest High School (Photo) - 09/22/22

On Tuesday, September 27, 12:30 p.m., in the courtyard at Palmer High School, 301 N. Nevada Avenue, the Colorado Springs School District 11 Board of Education, Superintendent, and Palmer High School student representative will fill and dedicate a time capsule in honor of D11's 150th year.

Set to be opened during the District's Bicentennial year in 2072, this above-ground time capsule will remain on display for the next 50 years at the District's central administration building.

Items such as student writings, Board of Education members written hopes for students in the future, and elementary student artwork depicting what life is like today will be included in the time capsule, along with district relics and newspaper clippings.

We hope you join us for this monumental dedication. If you plan to send a member of your media outlet, please have them check in with the front desk security at Palmer High School at the main entrance to the school, located just off the intersection of Nevada and Platte Avenues.
