Dispute leads to an arrest after bear spray was used (Photo) - 07/27/21

Type of Incident: Dispute involving bear spray and a replica BB gun

Location of Incident: Hunnell Road and Loco Road

Arrested: James “Logan” Colbert, 56 year old male, Bend

Bend Police were dispatched to the area of Hunnell Road near Loco Road for a dispute where it was initially reported that a gun was displayed and shots were fired. While law enforcement was enroute it was learned that shots were not fired, but bear spray was used on several people in the area during the dispute. 

One of the people living in the area retrieved a BB gun, that is a replica to a handgun, and held it to their side and told the suspect, James “Logan” Colbert, who sprayed the bear spray to leave the area.  James “Logan” Colbert left the area towards Lowes and Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Deputies contacted him and took him into custody. 

The bear spray and replica BB gun were recovered.  Bend Fire & Rescue treated and released an individual who was sprayed with the bear spray on scene.

 

James “Logan” Colbert was cited and released for Unlawful Use of Mace X 5.
