Detectives Seeking To Identify Witnesses In Robbery Investigation - 02/19/26

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 6:36 p.m., Efrain Alaniz-Garcia entered and robbed a marijuana dispensary near the 6300 block of SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway in Multnomah County. Alaniz-Garcia, a 27-year-old from Portland, then fled on foot from the dispensary and headed towards unincorporated Washington County.

At about 6:54 p.m., Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency (WCCCA) fielded multiple calls of a man waving down cars on SW Oleson Road and trying to get in at least one, with a description similar to that of the robbery suspect from Multnomah County.

Deputies responding to the call located and arrested Alaniz-Garcia, but not before he attempted to assault the responders. A deputy sustained minor injuries and was evaluated at a local hospital. Alaniz-Garcia also sustained minor injuries during the struggle and was assessed by medical personnel before being transported to jail for the following:

  • Robbery in the second degree
  • Theft in the first degree
  • Assault on a public safety officer
  • Assault in the fourth degree
  • Criminal mischief in the third degree
  • Misdemeanor warrant out of Beaverton

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) arrived to assist with the investigation and learned that multiple witnesses had left the scene before speaking with investigators. Detectives want to speak with witnesses and identify any victims whose cars were damaged or that Alaniz-Garcia attempted to get into.

If you have information or video about this incident and have not spoken to detectives, please contact our Investigations Division at 503-846-2500 and reference case number 50-26-2323.
