Man Arrested for Armed Robbery, Second Suspect Outstanding

January 22, 2023

On Sunday, January 22, 2023, at 10:20 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Rock Creek 185 Apartments at 18700 NW Rock Creek Circle.

Deputies learned that a man who had his vehicle stolen on January 19, 2023, located it being driven at NW 185th Avenue and NW West Union Blvd. The victim pulled up next to his stolen vehicle and told the occupants, later identified as 34-year-old Derek Nebreja of Beaverton and 33-year-old Leelani Hola of Portland, that the car was stolen.

Nebreja and Hola sped off and pulled into the Rock Creek 185 Apartments with the victim following. As the victim approached Nebreja and Hola, Nebreja displayed a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The victim drove away from Nebreja, who followed on foot while pointing the gun.

Deputies contained the area and located Nebreja inside the apartment complex at 10:35 a.m. Nebreja was taken into custody without incident.

Nebreja was transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • robbery in the first degree
  • unlawful use of a weapon
  • menacing
  • felon in possession of a firearm
