Man Arrested for Crashing into His Wife's Car, Driving Off (Photo) - 10/10/19

On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at approximately 3:57 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a hit and run crash near the intersection of SW Farmington Road and SW 185th Avenue in the Aloha area.

A woman had called 9-1-1 to report that someone had rear-ended her Dodge Durango while she was driving westbound on SW Farmington Road at around 40 mph.  The impact caused the Durango to spin around and end up on the eastbound shoulder of the road.  The woman told deputies she had found the front bumper of the car that hit her on the road with a license plate still attached.  She told deputies she recognized the plate to be her husband’s vehicle.

A short time later, deputies located the suspect’s red Chevy Cruze near SW 192nd Avenue and SW Murphy Court.  The driver was confirmed to be the victim’s husband, 30-year-old Adan Perez Martinez.  The car had heavy front-end damage, was leaking fluids, and had the airbag deployed.  Mr. Martinez told deputies he blacked out and didn’t remember the crash.

Mr. Martinez told deputies he had met up with his wife earlier, regardless of a no-contact order against him.  Deputies also found a small bag of methamphetamine inside his car.

Mr. Martinez was arrested and booked into jail on the following charges:

  • Hit and Run Injury
  • PCS Meth
  • Assault in the fourth degree (x2)
  • Probation Violation Detainer

Mr. Martinez is being held on $10,000 bail.
