Cornelius Bank Robbed by Unknown Suspect (Photo) - 01/08/19

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 6:02 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies serving the City of Cornelius responded to a robbery at U.S. Bank, located at 1735 North Adair Street.

Witnesses reported that an unknown male approached the counter and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The suspect then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Deputies, along with a sheriff’s office K-9 team and Forest Grove Police officers, conducted an extensive search of the area but the suspect was not located. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a 20 to 30-year-old white male, medium build, brown beard, wearing prescription glasses and a light blue hooded sweatshirt with a stripe across the chest.

Security footage of the incident is not available for release at this time.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Forensic Science Unit personnel. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified of the incident.
