Cornelius Pass Road Head-On Crash Leaves One in Critical Condition

August 20, 2018 - On Monday, August 20, 2018, at 3:44 p.m., a Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputy came upon a traffic crash that had just occurred on Northwest Cornelius Pass Road between Northwest West Union Road and Northwest Old Pass Road in unincorporated Washington County.

During the investigation, deputies learned that a gold 2006 Chrysler Sebring was traveling northbound on Northwest Cornelius Pass Road when it crossed into the opposing lane of travel and struck a white 2015 Toyota 4Runner traveling southbound head-on.

The driver of the Chrysler, 40-year-old Shannon Cravens of Hillsboro, was transported by Life Flight helicopter to a local hospital with critical injuries. Alcohol impairment is believed to be a factor.

The driver of the Toyota, 50-year-old Rebecca Field of Beaverton, was extricated from her vehicle and  transported by Metro West Ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Members from the inter-agency Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team responded and are assisting with the investigation. Hillsboro Fire & Rescue and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue assisted at the scene.

Northwest Cornelius Pass Road was reopened to traffic around 7:00 p.m. this evening.
