On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, the Beaverton Police Department, Hillsboro Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Washington County Parole & Probation participated in the 16th annual National Family Violence Apprehension Detail.

During the mission, participating law enforcement agencies coordinated closely to attempt to locate and apprehend suspects of family violence warrants and criminal investigations within Washington County.

By the end of the day, law enforcement conducted 47 checks to locate family violence suspects, resulting in four arrests.

This October, in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Beaverton Police Department, Hillsboro Police Department, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Washington County District Attorney's Office and victim advocates across our community are standing together to break the silence of domestic violence. More information, including resources for domestic violence survivors and a joint video message, can be viewed here.

The National Family Violence Apprehension Detail is a joint effort of agencies from across the United States. Last year, 148 law enforcement agencies from 37 different states participated along with probation departments, District Attorney's offices, shelter organizations, and community members.
