Man Charged with Attempted Murder following Aloha Stabbing (Photo) - 03/13/18

March 13, 2018 -- A man was captured and arrested on multiple charges after he stabbed another man at an apartment in the community of Aloha.

On Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 8:11 a.m., Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to an apartment complex at 18700 SW Farmington Road in Aloha concerning a reported assault. When deputies arrived, they found a 42-year-old man in his apartment with several stab wounds. The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Matthew Erb who fled the scene prior to the deputies' arrival.

Sheriff's deputies began searching for Mr. Erb who reportedly ran from the apartment. A Beaverton Police K9 assisted in the search but all efforts were initially unsuccessful. The Washington County Violent Crimes Unit and Forensics Science Unit responded to assist with the investigation and help search for Mr. Erb.

As detectives began piecing together the events, the search efforts continued for Mr. Erb. At 11:33 a.m., a detective found Mr. Erb at a bus stop at SW 198th Avenue and SW Farmington Road. Mister Erb was quickly arrested without further incident.

Detectives lodged Matthew Jay Erb at the Washington County Jail. He is charged with Attempted Murder, Violation of a Restraining Order and an unrelated warrant for DUII. His bail is set at $280,000.
