Cornelius Community Sponsors Fourth Annual Thanksgiving Dinner (Photo) - 11/13/17

November 13, 2017 -- On Saturday, November 18, 2017, the City of Cornelius, in partnership with Centro Cultural of Washington County and the Washington County Sheriff's Office, will provide a holiday dinner to members of the community during the Fourth Annual Cornelius Community Thanksgiving Dinner. This hot meal will be offered at no cost and is expected to feed over 500 people.

The holiday dinner will be held on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Cornelius Elementary School (200 North 14th Avenue, Cornelius). In addition to a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner, the menu for the evening will also include tamales.

"Cornelius takes great pride in partnering with Centro Cultural of Washington County and the Washington County Sheriff's Office to provide a delicious warm meal for residents in our community," said Cornelius Mayor Jef Dalin.

"This is a great opportunity for those who live in our community to build relationships during a time that can sometimes be stressful for families," said Cornelius Police Chief Al Roque.

The dinner is made possible through generous donations and volunteer hours provided by community partners in Cornelius, listed at the bottom of this release.
