The Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD) was awarded the Certificate Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the highest standards, including a constructive spirit of full disclosure and to clearly communicate and motivate customers to read the report.
“Transparency in financial reporting is critically important at TVWD,” said Board of Commissioners President, Todd Sanders, PhD. “Our customers deserve to know that the District takes its responsibility for financial management seriously.”
“As TVWD serves as the managing agency for the Willamette Water Supply Program, an historic investment in an additional water supply for the region, excellence in financial reporting is a valuable resource,” added Chief Financial Officer, Tom Hickmann, PE.
This award represents the highest form of recognition provided by GFOA in the areas of governmental accounting and financial reporting. TVWD has attained the award for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for 31 consecutive years, representing a long-standing, continuous commitment to managing public money with transparency and integrity.
