UPDATE: Missing Child Located - 11/26/24

The child who disappeared after leaving his home in the Portsmouth Neighborhood has been located and is safe. The child is being reunited with his family.

PPB would like to thank the community for assistance.

A child has left his home in the Portsmouth Neighborhood, and the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) is asking for community members to keep an eye out for him.

On in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 24, 2024, Nahiru Tibata, 12, left his home in the 9600 block of North Fiske Avenue and has not returned home. Nahiru speaks Swahili, does not speak English and has the cognitive behavior of a 3-year-old.

Nahiru is a black male, 5’9” in height, 170lbs, last seen wearing green, red, and black “Grinch” pajamas. Nahiru’s photo is attached.

If anyone sees Nahiru, please call 911 immediately. For any non-urgent information, please e-mail missing@police.portlandoregon.gov and reference case number 24-301653.
