Several firearms, ammunition and cash were seized during a traffic stop in Northeast Portland.
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, officers from the Portland Police Bureau’s Focused Intervention Team (FIT) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Northeast Halsey Street and Northeast 74th Avenue for committing multiple traffic violations. Officers spotted a firearm in one of the seat pockets and detained all four occupants of the vehicle. A subsequent search of the individuals yielded two additional firearms. In all, officers seized three firearms (photo attached), more than 80 bullets, and more than $3,000 in cash.
The following individuals were transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center:
Elijah Q. Martin, 19, of Portland, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Altering Identification on a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public
Aerion L. Purifoy, 18, of Portland, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public
Lamar L. Stewart, 19, of Portland, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public
Rowan J. Swanson, 23, of Portland, Probation Officer Detainer
Officers assigned to FIT conducted a traffic stop on the same vehicle approximately a month ago. During that event, two firearms were seized.
