The Portland Police Bureau partnered with the Oregon State Police, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and other agencies to conduct a successful traffic enforcement mission over the weekend.
The multi-agency mission resulted in more than 1300 traffic stops for violations such as speeding, impaired driving and distracted driving. At least 62 people were arrested and at least 890 citations were issued. In addition, at least 43 vehicles were towed and two illegally possessed firearms were recovered.
PPB and its partners encourage everyone to drive safe and sober this holiday season.

The Portland Police Bureau will be partnering in a multi-agency traffic enforcement mission across the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan areas from November 22 – 24, 2024. This is in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday travel period and the approaching wet, winter weather.
Each agency will be focused on enhancing safe driving behaviors and preventing serious or fatal crashes by concentrating on the Fatal-5 driving behaviors: Speed, Occupant Safety, Lane Usage, Impaired Driving, and Distracted Driving.
We ask that you drive safely, designate a sober driver, use ride share, plan ahead for travel delays, and use safety features that can enhance your safety (seatbelts, child safety seats, hands-free Bluetooth, etc.).
We wish you a happy and safe travel season.
