The man who was found deceased after a shooting Thursday evening on the TriMet MAX platform at North Interstate Avenue and North Prescott Street is identified as Sean K. Smeeden, 39, of Portland. His family members have been notified of his death and have not indicated an interest in speaking to the media.
The medical examiner determined that Smeeden died of homicide by gunshot wound. There were no TriMet trains or busses in the vicinity when the shooting happened.
No arrests have been made. This remains an open and active investigation, and detectives are still seeking witnesses and anyone with information about this shooting.
