UPDATE: Injury Crash in Arnold Creek Neighborhood Turns Fatal, Victim Identified - 03/04/24

The scooter operator badly hurt in a crash in the Arnold Creek Neighborhood on February 7th has died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The victim is identified as Peter Pellegrin, 74. Pellegrin was pronounced deceased at a local hospital on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

No charges have been filed against the driver involved in the crash, but the case remains under review by the lead investigator and District Attorney’s Office.

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact the Traffic Division at (503) 823-2103 and reference case number 24-30844.

This is the 15th fatal crash in Portland in 2024.

A motorized scooter rider suffered critical injuries after a crash in the Arnold Creek Neighborhood.

On Wednesday February 7, 2024 at 1:47p.m., Portland Police Central Precinct officers and Lake Oswego Police officers were dispatched to a report of a crash near Southwest Boones Ferry Road and Southwest 19th Avenue. Officers arrived and found a crash involving a vehicle and a scooter. The scooter rider suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The vehicle driver was not hurt and remained at the scene.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team is responding to the scene. During the investigation, Southwest Boones Ferry Road is closed between Southwest 18th Avenue and Southwest Orchard Hill Road. Traffic is also affected at the intersection of Southwest Boones Ferry Road, Southwest 19th Avenue, Southwest Clara Lane, and Southwest Englewood Drive.
