UPDATE: Detectives Are Asking for the Publics' Help in Identifying Potential Witness (Photo) - 02/16/22

The Portland Police Bureau is attempting to identify potential witnesses for a homicide investigation. Investigators would like to speak with anyone who visited the Jackson's Food Store located at 5820 Northeast Glisan Street, on January 30, 2022, between 8:00pm and 8:30pm. The individual getting into their vehicle, seen in the attached photograph, may have critical information regarding the investigation.

The victim has been identified as Dustin W. Norton, 41, of Portland. His family has been notified and provided the attached photograph for public release. They are requesting privacy at this time.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined Norton died of homicide by gunshot.

This is still an active investigation and no further information is available at this time. On January 30, 2022, at 8:30pm., officers were dispatched to the area of Northeast Couch Street and Northeast 52nd Avenue after someone called 911 to report hearing what they believed was gunfire. Officers responded as several other 911 reports about the incident were made. Officers arrived and found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers quickly determined the victim was deceased.

Portland Police Homicide Detectives have responded to the scene to investigate.
