PPB Officers Recover Multiple Guns over the Weekend (Photo) - 01/11/22

On Sunday, January 9, 2022, North Precinct officers responded to reports of a shot fired at an apartment complex in 13400 Block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard following a disturbance. Officers captured a video of the suspect and compiled witness descriptions.

Thirty minutes later while patrolling, a North Precinct sergeant located the suspect vehicle. After coordinating a high-risk stop, officers noted the front passenger was wearing what appeared to be the same clothing as the suspect in the video. When the front passenger was removed from the car, two spent casings were found in his pocket and a live round was located on the floorboard where he sat. A magazine with rounds that can defeat body armor was located in the vehicle and a firearm was found underneath a jacket on the back seat. An additional handgun was located in the vehicle as well.

Thirty-year-old William Charles Nickson Sr was arrested and charged with Reckless Endangering of Another Person and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

In addition to these recovered firearms on January 9, from January 7 to January 10, 2022, officers recovered 13 additional firearms, including a pistol that featured a device to make it fully automatic.
