Victim in Fatal Hit And Run Identified - Investigators Share Information About Suspect Vehicle - 09/15/21

The victim in this fatal hit and run has been identified as 23-year-old Austin Boyd.

Evidence collected at the scene of this incident suggests the suspect vehicle is a white or light colored 1993 to 1997 Honda Passport or Isuzu Rodeo. There may be damage to the front of the vehicle on the right side, including a shattered turn signal indicator beneath the bumper.

Anyone with information about this fatal hit and run is asked to contact the Traffic Investigation Unit at 503-823-2103.

On September 11, 2021 at about 4:38 a.m., Portland Police responded to the report of a person down in the traffic lanes of Southeast Cesar E Chavez Boulevard near Southeast Clinton Street. Officers arrived along with medical personnel and determined the person was deceased.
Officers began an investigation and believed the person had been struck by a vehicle, which apparently left the scene.

The Portland Police Bureau Major Crash Team responded and took over the investigation. Investigators believe the deceased person was a pedestrian, in or near a marked crosswalk at the time they were struck.

Southeast Cesar E Chavez Boulevard was blocked for about three hours as officers spoke with witnesses and gathered evidence. Any additional information will be released at the direction of investigators.
