Suspect in Murder on Bus Arrested (Photo) - 08/28/21

On August 28, 2021 at 3:47p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a report that Wayne Thompson was seen in the area of Southeast 139th Avenue and Southeast Stark Street. Officers did not find him there but did an area check and located him at Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Stark Street. He was arrested without incident.

Homicide detectives responded and took custody of Thompson. They booked him into the Multnomah County Detention Center on his Murder II and Felon in Possession of a Firearm warrant.

PPB is grateful to the community for looking for Thompson.

The suspect in the shooting death of Adrian Richardson has been identified as Wayne Conrad Thompson, 47 (photos). PPB Homicide Detectives, with the help of the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, have obtained an arrest warrant for Thompson for Murder in the Second Degree and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The victim in this case has been identified as 44-year-old Adrian Anastacio Richardson.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined Richardson died from gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.

This is an ongoing investigation. Any additional information will be released at the direction of detectives.

A man is deceased after a disturbance on a bus leads to a shooting.

On Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 5:28p.m., Central Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of someone shot in the area of Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard and Southeast 26th Avenue. When officers arrived, they found an adult male with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Paramedics and emergency medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but the victim died at the hospital.

Officers began an investigation and learned that the suspect left before police were called. No arrests have been made. No suspect information is being released. Preliminary investigation suggests that the shooting happened during a disturbance on a TriMet bus.

Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard is closed between Southeast 26th Avenue and Southeast 29th Avenue. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate to the investigation.
