Arrest Made in Injury Shooting from May (Photo) - 07/16/21

The Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) has made an arrest in a shooting case from May.

On May 5, 2021 East Precinct Officers responded to a shooting and motor vehicle crash in the area of Southeast 162nd Avenue and Southeast Taylor Street (PPB Case 21-120348). A juvenile male suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries. ECST detectives opened an investigation and identified Samaryia Lambert, 23, as a suspect in this shooting. ECST detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Lambert for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Firearm), and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

On July 14, 2021 at about 4:30a.m., members of PPB’s Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Southeast 160th Avenue in an effort to apprehend Lambert and search a related residence. Lambert jumped from a window several stories high in an effort to evade capture. SERT members assisted by personnel from ECST and East Precinct were able to safely apprehend Lambert a short time later at a nearby location without use of force. Lambert suffered serious injuries from his attempted escape and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

During the search of Lambert's residence, several firearms and other related evidence was recovered.

In the afternoon of July 15, 2021, Lambert was released from the hospital and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on the arrest warrant and an outstanding parole violation warrant for an unrelated burglary.
