Portland Police Arrest Felon Armed With Revolver During Threats Call - 04/20/21

On April 19, 2021 at about 8:48 p.m., Portland Police were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Northeast 101st Avenue, regarding the report of a complainant being threatened by a person known to them and who is known to carry a pistol, which had been displayed in a threatening manner in recent days.

When officers arrived they spoke to the complainant, who told them the person making threats was 28-year-old Manuel Salinas-Rojas, of Portland. The complainant told officers Mr. Salinas-Rojas had been making threats for days and was probably still in the area. Officers gathered information, including a description, and searched for the suspect.

Within a short time officers found Mr. Salinas-Rojas nearby, and took him into custody. At the time officers contacted Mr. Salinas-Rojas they saw that he had a black revolver in his hand. Mr. Salinas-Rojas followed officers’ orders and set the revolver down before surrendering. Officers recovered the loaded revolver.

Officers booked Mr. Salinas-Rojas in jail for two counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, one count each of Menacing – Domestic Violence and Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public.
