Shooting Investigation Underway in Hazelwood Neighborhood, Apartment Building Struck - 09/10/20

On September 10, 2020, at approximately 4:06 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the 400 block of Southeast 143rd Avenue on reports of a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and found evidence of gunfire, including an apartment building that was hit by bullets. Preliminary investigation shows a confrontation occurred between several subjects. The confrontation led to two subjects shooting their firearms towards each other. No one was struck by gunfire. Two subjects who were involved in this incident have been taken into custody.

Given the circumstances of the incident, there is no threat to the community.

Officers have secured the crime scene and Assault detectives are responding to assist in the investigation.

The PIO is not responding to the scene.
