Update: Homicide Victim from North Marine Drive Shooting Identified (Photo) - 08/05/20

The individual killed in the July 26 shooting has been identified as 32 year-old Derrick James Jensen of Sandy, Oregon. Family members have been notified of his death and provided the photograph.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office has determined the cause and manner of death to be homicide by gunshot wound.

One person was located deceased onscene related to this incident. Detectives from the Homicide Division are actively investigating the circumstances.

In order to protect the integrity of this serious investigation, no further details are able to be released at this time. As information becomes available for release, an updated press release will be sent out.

On July 26, 2020 at about 11:03 p.m. Portland Police responded to the report of a shooting in the 6100 Block of N. Marine Drive.

Officers are still securing the scene and beginning to investigate. More information will be released when it becomes available.
