On July 5, 2020 at 12:15am Portland Police received a call regarding a two car collision near N. Marine Drive and N. Bybee Lake Road. Witnesses reported there appeared to be injuries as a result of the crash.

Police arrived and determined two vehicles were involved in the crash. A gray Infiniti traveling westbound on N. Marine Drive collided with a red Honda making a U-turn in the intersection of N. Marine Drive and N. Bybee Lake Road. Witnesses told police the Infiniti was driving without its lights and was traveling approximately 100 miles per hour. When it struck the Honda the Infiniti became airborne and flipped at least once before colliding with a tree where it came to rest.

There were three people in the Honda all of whom were transported to the hospital.
There were two people in the Infinity both of whom were transported to the hospital. The Portland Fire and Rescue had to cut open the Infiniti to extract the passenger out of the car.
Despite injuries, at this time it appears that everyone is expected to survive.

The Portland Police Major Crash Team is investigating this crash. Police believe speed and alcohol were factors. There have been no arrests, but the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with video or information about this crash is encouraged to call Officer Garrett Dow at 503-823-5070.
