PPB Seeking Community Help Identifying Suspects in May Shooting - 06/24/20

On May 30, 2020 at approximately 9:09 p.m., Portland Police Bureau Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Water Avenue on reports of a shooting. Officers responded to the scene, located three male victims, one of which had been shot in the back.

The investigation suggests the victims were approached by three subjects while crossing over the Hawthorne Bridge to the east side. After a brief interaction, the victims walked down the staircase from the bridge leading to Southeast Water Avenue. Once underneath the bridge on Southeast Water Avenue, the subjects who encountered the victims on the bridge were now inside a blue colored sedan. The subjects began chasing down the victims and shot multiple rounds towards them (video). The victim who was found shot on the scene was instantly paralyzed.

If anyone has information regarding the sedan in this video, or information regarding this shooting, they are requested to contact Detective Jeffery Pontius at Jeffery.Pontius@portlandoregon.gov
