Man Stabbed in the Back, Downtown, Suspect Outstanding - 05/20/20

On May 20, 2020, at 6:59 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 300 block of West Burnside Street.

Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from a stab wound to his back. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. He has what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Officers canvased the area and talked with witnesses. Officers learned the stabbing occurred under the Burnside Bridge just west of Natio Parkway. The crime scene was secured and PPB's Forensic Evidence Division responded and collected evidence.

It was also learned the victim was stabbed after a confrontation with the suspect. An unknown weapon was used. The suspect left the scene before police arrived.

The case has been forwarded to Assault Detail Detectives for follow-up. No other information is available at this time.
