PPB Investigating Assault Case in Northeast Portland-Garage Set on Fire, Suspect in Custody - 11/29/19

On Thursday, November 28, 2019, at 8:39 p.m., Officers with East Precinct responded to a report of an assault in the 800 block of Northeast 68th Avenue. An adult male was reportedly struck with an object by an involved adult female and sustained an injury.

As Officers conducted the investigation, they encountered an involved female in the garage. Officers detected smoke and called for Portland Fire and Rescue to assist in putting out a fire in the garage.

Portland Fire and Rescue members arrived and quickly extinguished the fire. Officers arrested the female. She was taken to an area hospital to be treated for an un-related medical issue.
The involved male was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He has already been treated and released.

It is early in the investigation and investigators are trying to determine what happened, the involved person's identity, and appropriate charges. An updated release will be provided with information as it becomes available for public release.

There is no identified on-going risk to the public at this time.
