UPDATE: Photos of Firearms Seized and Involved Truck Released (Photo) - 10/04/19

PPB is releasing photographs of the involved vehicle and the firearms that were recovered from the stolen truck. Additionally, the driver of the SUV who was crashed into by the suspect was not injured.

On Thursday, October 3, 2019, at 5:15 p.m., North Precinct Officers responded to the area of Northeast 82nd Avenue and Northeast Prescott Street to assist a US Marshal. The Marshal had attempted to stop a Les Schwab vehicle, but the vehicle eluded the Marshal, crashed into another vehicle, and the driver fled on foot.

The Les Schwab vehicle was determined to be a stolen vehicle. Officers located a .380 handgun, a rifle, and a suspected methamphetamine pipe in the vehicle.

Officers set up a perimeter and a police K9 assisted in the search. PPB's air support unit assisted with the search. The suspect was located in the 4600 block of Northeast 82nd Avenue.

The suspect was identified as 33 year-old Christopher P. Thomas. He booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center and charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearms, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public (2 counts), Reckless Burning, Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver (Property Damage), and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.
