###ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW###

On Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 12:15 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the 16000 block of Southeast Alder Street relating to a woman stealing a United States Postal Service truck. As the woman was driving away in the stolen truck, she hit a passenger bus near Northeast Wasco Street and Northeast 162 Avenue. Minor injuries were reported on the bus relating to this collision.

Officers eventually located the truck still being driven and tried to conduct a traffic stop. Due to the suspect's erratic driving behavior, the truck flipped and crashed near Northeast 155 Avenue and Northeast Fremont Street. The shirtless suspect then fled on foot where she was taken into custody by officers after a twelve block foot pursuit.

Officers nor the suspect sustained any injuries. The adult female was transported to a local area hospital due to her drugged induced behavior.

The Gresham Police Department and the United States Postal Inspector are assisting with this investigation.

An updated news release will be pushed out if appropriate to the investigation.
