Update #3: Missing Man Re-united with Family (Photo) - 08/22/19

Ronald Charves was located in North Portland after a community member saw local media coverage, recognized him and called police. He has since been re-united with his family. His wife shared this photograph of them after they re-united and wanted to express gratitude to all those who helped look for him and the community member who spotted him. They respectfully request privacy while they rest.

The Portland Police Bureau Missing Persons Unit and family members of the missing man continue to seek information or tips on the whereabouts of 50 year-old Ronald Charves. New photographs are being provided to the public. Additionally, he may have been wearing a reddish or pink shirt under the white hoody and may be wearing or have "reader" glasses with him. The family believes he could be soiled or dirty at this time.

The PPB PIO and family members are planning to hold a media briefing at 3 p.m. today at 1111 SW 2nd Avenue in the Chief's Outer conference room if he is not located by that time. Media can begin setting up at 2:30 p.m.

If anyone sees this missing person, call 9-1-1. If anyone has a tip about where he may have been since yesterday at 2 p.m., contact non-emergency dispatch at (503) 823-3333.

The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help to locate 50-year-old Ronald Charves. He was last seen today, August 21, 2019 at 2:00p.m. near Multnomah Village.

Charves is described as a bald white male, 6'4" tall, 230 pounds, wearing glasses, a white hoody, blue jeans and blue and white Nike shoes.

Charves suffers from a traumatic brain injury and will not know how to get home on his own.

Anyone who sees Charves is asked to call 9-1-1. Anyone with non-emergency information about Charves should contact Detective Lori Fonken at 503-823-1081 or email at missing@portlandoregon.gov
