PPB Conducts Death Investigation at the Oregon Zoo - 08/12/19

On Monday, August 12, 2019 at 9:49a.m., Central Precinct Officers responded to the Oregon Zoo located at 4001 Southwest Canyon Road on a report of a deceased male in the construction site of a new rhino habitat.

Officers learned that the rhino habitat was still under construction and did not have any animals inside. The Medical Examiner responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. The cause and manner of death has not been determined at this time. The deceased person was identified as 62-year-old Carl Stanley Ross Sr. and the next of kin has been notified. Investigators learned that Ross was reported missing since August 10, 2019.
