UPDATE #3: Shooting Investigation Underway In The Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood (Photo) - 05/13/19

The investigation is continuing into Thursday's homicide. The victim in this case has been identified as 40-year-old Kegan K. Thompson. His picture is attached to this release per the family's request.

There is no other information to be released at this time.

The Tactical Operations Division is continuing to investigate several incidents of gun violence citywide.

Anyone with information about gun crimes in the City of Portland is encouraged to provide information to the Portland Police Bureau's Tactical Operations Division at 503-823-4106 or email information to GunTaskForce@portlandoregon.gov

Information learned from social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or YouTube should be shared with investigators as these tips may lead to the identification of a suspect or suspects.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon is offering a minimum $250 cash reward to anyone who reports a convicted felon or a juvenile in possession of a firearm and tipsters can remain anonymous.

The investigation is continuing into yesterday's homicide.

No more information is expected to be released until after the weekend. However detectives wanted to stress that they would like to hear from anyone that has information in this case.

The investigation is continuing into last night's shooting.

The victim in this incident has died. Therefore homicide detectives were called to assist precinct officers and members of GVRT. The Forensics Evidence Division was also on scene to document this incident.

The deceased will be identified once the family has been notified. An autopsy will be completed to determine the cause of death.

The suspect is not in custody but we are not sharing suspect information at this time. There is not believed to be a threat to the greater public relating to this incident.

On May 9th, 2019, at 10:28 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to an incident, near Southeast 104the Avenue and Southeast Holgate Boulevard, where an adult male had been shot. Officers arrived and located a man who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a local area hospital in serious condition.

The Gun Violence Reduction Team (GVRT) responded to assist precinct officers with their investigation. No one is custody and it is not known what lead to the shooting at this time. No updates are expected tonight.
