Businesses, Passing Vehicles Shot With BB Guns, Arrests Made (photos) (Photo) -02/24/19

On Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 1:04 P.M., Central Precinct Officers responded to a call of BB guns being fired at businesses, passing vehicles, and pedestrians in the 10 Block of Northwest Trinity Place, near the intersection with West Burnside Street. After contacting victims and witnesses, officers were able to narrow down the window from which the shots were coming. Officers closed off sidewalks in the area for the safety of people walking by. Officers went to the apartment and arrested two suspects. They seized two CO2 cartridge-powered BB pistols and metal BB ammunition (PHOTO). Both suspects were booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center. 19-year-old Hayden B. Slater and 18-year-old Tyshawn Williams (PHOTOS) were each booked on charges of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree (2 counts), Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree (3 counts), Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, and Discharging a Firearm in City (Portland City Code). Officers are following up on reports over the past few days of damage and working to see if those reports are connected to this case. The Portland Police Bureau encourages anyone who believes they were injured or suffered damage in the area of West Burnside Street and Northwest Trinity Place to call police non-emergency at 503-823-3333 and make a police report. ###PPB###
