Shooting Investigation Early Saturday Morning in Portland's Montavilla Neighborhood - One Person Injured - 12/15/18

On Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 2:38 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the Motel 6, located at 9225 Southeast Stark Street, on the report a person had been shot.

When officers arrived at the motel they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot injury. Officers provided the victim with emergency first aid until emergency medical responders arrived. The victim was transported to an area hospital by ambulance for treatment of what is believed to be a serious but non-life-threatening injury.

Officers searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspects' descriptions.

Based on initial information learned in the investigation, officers believe there was a disturbance in one of the motel rooms and during the disturbance a suspect fired a gun.

There is not believed to be a danger to the public in relation to this shooting. At this time there is no additional information to provide the public regarding this investigation.

Members with the Portland Police Bureau Tactical Operation Division's Gun Violence Response Team responded to assume the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division also responded to assist with the investigation
