News Release
Officers Investigate Shooting Early Thursday Morning in Portland's Lents Neighborhood -- No Injuries - 12/13/18

On Thursday, December 13, 2018, at 1:01 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the 10100 block of Southeast Liebe Street on the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived in the area, they contacted a homeowner whose occupied home was struck by gunfire. Officers also located evidence of gunfire on Southeast Liebe Street.

Based on information gathered in the initial investigation, officers believe a group of people associated with a black Volkswagen Jetta arrived in the neighborhood and parked in the 10100 block of Southeast Liebe Street. The people associated with the Jetta were being noisy and a community member asked the group to be quieter. After the community member contacted the group, a person associated with the group reportedly fired a gunshot that struck the victim's residence. There were multiple people in the residence at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured.

Responding officers searched the area for suspects, but no one matching the suspects' descriptions were located.

Members with the Portland Police Bureau Tactical Operation Division's Gun Violence Response Team responded to assume the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division also responded to assist with the investigation

Anyone who witnessed, has information about this shooting or who possesses video surveillance footage of the shooting is asked to contact Portland Police Bureau Tactical Operations Division's Gun Violence Response Team (GVRT) Detective Meghan Burkeen at 503-823-2092 or Meghan.Burkeen@portlandoregon.gov
