UPDATE: Suspects Identified in Wednesday Night Shooting Investigation (Photo) - 12/13/18

The suspects taken into custody as officers investigated a shooting during the evening of Wednesday, December 12, 2018, in the area of Northeast 122nd Avenue and Northeast Oregon Street have been identified as 21-year-old Tyler J. Williams and 34-year-old Tyrone Lee.

Williams and Lee were lodged at the Multnomah County Jail. Williams was lodged on a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Lee was booked on a parole violation warrant.

On Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 6:07 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the area near Northeast 122nd Avenue and Northeast Oregon Street on multiple reports of people hearing gunfire.

Officers arrived in the area and searched for suspects, victims, and evidence of gunfire. During the investigation, officers contacted several witnesses and obtained descriptions of the people believed to be involved in the shooting.

During a search of the area, a responding officer in the area of Northeast 128th Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street, located two suspects that matched the description of the suspects reportedly involved in this shooting. The officer contacted the suspects and provided them directions. One of the suspects complied with the officer's directions and was taken into custody without incident; an officer located a firearm on the suspect after he was taken into custody. The other suspect ran from the officer but officers located the suspect and he was taken into custody near Northeast 126th Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street.

As officers canvassed the area near the shooting location, they located evidence of gunfire in a parking lot located on the southeast corner of Northeast 122nd Avenue and Northeast Oregon Street. Officers also located damage to a building located on the south side of the parking lot; officers believe the damage is a result of gunfire during this shooting.

There have been no reported injuries or anyone arriving at area hospitals with injuries believed to be related to this shooting investigation.

The suspects detained as a part of the shooting investigation will be identified after which time they are lodged at the Multnomah County Jail.

Based on information gathered at this time investigators do not believe there was a danger to the public in relation to this shooting.

Members with the Portland Police Bureau Tactical Operation Division's Gun Violence Response Team responded to assume the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division also responded to assist with the investigation
