Shooting Investigation Late Friday Night in Portland's Hazelwood Neighborhood -- No Known Injuries - 11/03/18

On Friday, November 2, 2018, at 9:38 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to reports of gunfire near Southeast 139th Avenue and Southeast Mill Street.

When officers arrived at the intersection, they searched the area for suspects, injured people, and evidence of gunfire. Officers did not locate any suspects, injured persons or damaged property associated to this shooting.

As officers canvassed the area they located evidence of gunfire in the intersection of Southeast 139th Avenue and Southeast Mill Street.

There are no reports of anyone arriving at area hospitals suffering injuries as a result of this shooting.

People in the area at the time of the shooting reported that they heard gunfire and shortly afterwards heard a vehicle speed south on Southeast 139th Avenue from Southeast Mill Street.

This investigation is on-going and at this time there is no suspect or suspect vehicle information to provide the public.

Based on preliminary information, the Gun Violence Response Team responded to assume the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division have also responded to assist with this investigation.

Anyone who witnessed this shooting or who possesses video surveillance footage of the shooting is asked to contact Portland Police Bureau Tactical Operations Division Gun Violence Response Team at 503-823-4106.

The Portland Police Bureau works closely with Enough is Enough PDX, a community-led campaign aimed at encouraging people to take a stand against gang violence in the area.
