One Person Injured in Early Morning Stabbing in Old Town - 11/02/18

On Friday November 2, 2018, at approximately 3:23 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the area of 2nd and West Burnside Street.

Officers arrived in the area and located the 25-year-old male victim on Northwest 2nd Avenue, just north of Burnside Street. The victim was suffering from a stab wound to his left arm so officers applied a tourniquet and awaited medical personnel to respond to the scene. The victim was transported to a Portland hospital by ambulance where he was treated and released.

Officers learned that the victim and a friend were walking along Northwest 1st Avenue near Couch Street when an unknown male "acting psychotic" approached the victim and, without provocation, stabbed him in the arm. The victim and friend yelled at the suspect who then ran away and was not located.

The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20s, approximately six feet tall, wearing dark clothing, and a bald head.

Anyone with information about this incident or suspect is asked to contact Assault Detectives at 503-823-0400.
