Officers Locate and Arrest Burglary Suspect in Portland's East Columbia Neighborhood (Photo) - 10/08/18

On Monday, October 8, 2018, at 3:06 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the 9200 block of North Whitaker Road on the report a person had broken into a building.

Officers responded to the building and learned a security system had been activated, indicating the building was being burglarized. A police canine team responded to the location to assist with the search of the building for possible suspects involved in the burglary. As officers searched the building, the police canine displayed indicators that a person was hiding in the attic of the building. As officers investigated, they located a suspect hiding in a crawl space. Officers took the suspect into custody without incident.

During the investigation, officers learned the suspect caused a significant amount of damage to the building and other property inside the business.

The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Patrick K. Plamondon. Plamondon was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Burglary in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.
