CLARIFICATION: Police Seek Witnesses to PSU Police Department Officer-Involved Shooting - 07/12/18

The Police Bureau is the lead investigative agency for the criminal investigation related to a Friday, June 29, 2018, Portland State University Police Department officer-involved shooting.

On Friday, June 29, 2018, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Portland State University Police Department Officers were involved in an officer-involved shooting on Southwest College Street between Southwest Broadway and Southwest 6th Avenue. Jason E. Washington died during this incident.

The Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Homicide Detail was assigned to lead the criminal investigation of this officer-involved shooting. Based on information learned during the criminal investigation, detectives believe there are witnesses who have not contacted detectives.
