CORRECTION: Shooting Investigation Overnight in Portland's Old Town/Chinatown - One Person Injured - 05/26/18

On Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 1:15 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of gunfire near Northwest 6th Avenue and Northwest Everett Street.

Officers arrived in the area and searched for victims, suspects, witnesses, and evidence. During the canvass, officers contacted several witnesses and located evidence that someone had been injured.

As officers continued the investigation at Northwest 6th Avenue and Northwest Everett Street, an adult male arrived at an area hospital by private vehicle with what was believed to be a serious but non-life-threatening injury.

At this time officers have not located any suspects associated with this shooting and there are no suspect descriptions to provide the public.

Based on preliminary information, the Gang Enforcement Team responded to assume the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division also responded to assist with this investigation.

Anyone who witnessed this shooting or who possesses video surveillance footage of the area is asked to contact the Portland Police Bureau Tactical Operations Division's Gang Enforcement Team at 503-823-4106.

The Portland Police Bureau works closely with Enough is Enough PDX, a community-led campaign aimed at encouraging people to take a stand against gang violence in the area.
