On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 12:41 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the area near Southeast 16th Avenue and Southeast Rhine Street on the report that a person had been shot.

Officers and emergency medical personnel arrived in the area and located an adult male victim suffering from what was believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. Emergency medical responders provided the man medical aid and transported him to an area hospital by ambulance.

Officers searched the area for possible suspects and evidence of the shooting. During the search, officers located evidence of gunfire at the intersection of Southeast 16th Avenue and Southeast Rhine Street. Officers have not locate any suspects associated with this shooting at this time.

The suspect was last seen leaving the area in a dark colored sedan with tinted windows. There is no additional suspect description available for public release at this time.

The case will be forwarded to the Portland Police Bureau's Detective Division for further investigation. Anyone with information about this shooting should contact the Assault Detail at 503-823-0479.
