On Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 9:49 a.m., officers assigned to provide extra patrols in Portland's Lloyd District and Irvington and Hollywood Neighborhoods arrested a 22-year-old man on drug and weapons charges in a parking lot at the Safeway located at 1100 Northeast Broadway.
While working in the Lloyd District, officers observed a white four door Acura sedan parked in the upper parking lot of the Safeway. The occupants of the Acura were the subject of an illegal drug activity investigation the prior week. As the officers contacted the only occupant of the vehicle today, they observed evidence of illegal drug possession.
During the investigation, officers located heroin, materials to package and distribute the heroin, over $700.00 in cash, and a firearm inside the Acura. The occupant of the Acura was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Tristan Lee Gladstein. Gladstein was lodged at the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Delivery of Heroin, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public and a warrant out of the San Francisco County Sheriff's Office for Vandalism.
During extra patrol details in the Lloyd District and Irvington and Hollywood Neighborhoods, officers focus on livability concerns identified by community members, businesses, community organizations and district officers. North Precinct will conduct future neighborhood livability patrols as staffing allows.
