UPDATE: Public's Help Sought Regarding Subjects in March 20th Shooting (Photo) - 04/12/18

The Police Bureau Tactical Operation Division's Gang Enforcement Team continues to investigate a shooting that occurred on March 20, 2018, in the 15900 block of East Burnside Street that left one man injured and two occupied apartments struck by gunfire.

Investigators are asking for the public's help to identify and locate three people believed to be associated with this shooting. Based on surveillance footage captured near the scene of the shooting, investigators believe there are three subjects associated with this incident. The first subject is described as male, 30 to 40-years-old, with a husky build. A second subject is described a male, 20 to 30-years-old, with a medium build, goatee and tattoo on his right forearm. A third subject is described as a male, 20 to 30 years old, with a thin build and a beard.

On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 7:25 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to multiple reports of people hearing gunfire at the Morgan Place Apartments, located at 15900 East Burnside Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they contacted multiple witnesses and searched the area for any victims and suspects. During the canvass, officers located evidence of gunfire in the parking lot of the Morgan Place Apartments and located two apartments with damage consistent with being struck by gunfire.

As officers continued there investigation at the scene of the shooting, a victim arrived at an area hospital with what was believed to be a non-life-threatening injury. Officers responded to the hospital and based on information learned after arriving, believe the victim was transported to the hospital by private vehicle after the shooting at 15900 East Burnside Street.

During the investigation, officers learned witnesses heard an argument immediately before the gunfire and observed people running from the area after the shooting.

At this time no suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

Based on information learned at this point in the investigation there is not believed to be a danger to the community in connection to this shooting investigation.

The Gang Enforcement Team is responding to assume the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division are also responding to assist with this investigation.
